Making the automotive industry more efficient

Automodular Corporation sub-assembles some of the more complex parts of vehicles, delivering them to OEMs where they are assembled into the final vehicle. Automodular makes the process of final assembly faster and simpler so that the vehicles are produced more efficiently overall.

Automodular Corporation’s services are best understood by recognizing the many pressures that the OEMs are subjected to. Three are foremost:

1.
There is increasing demand for vehicles that are extremely reliable. “Monday cars,” those that were reputedly less reliable as they were produced after the weekend when the workforce cared less, are history. Warranties that extend over several years are now the norm.

2.
Consumers have more choice than ever before and their preferences can change rapidly. There are over three hundred models of car offered in North America, which is double the number offered three decades ago.

3.
There is unrelenting pressure to deliver greater value. Consumers are demanding more features and better performance for less money.

The OEMs have responded by improving quality, reducing their costs and building more flexible operations.

Automodular helps on all counts because our plants, which are located close to the OEMs - generally within 20 kilometers, can manufacture sub-assemblies extremely efficiently and then deliver them in precisely the sequence they are needed for the final installation, at precisely the time they are needed.

The benefit to the OEM is that their plant can be smaller, more productive and more flexible. The line can switch to manufacturing a different model quickly and without significant disruption.

Consumers have considerable choice making the automotive industry highly competitive, which drives improvements in manufacturing efficiency.
